Machine Tool Process

  • MACHINE TOOL PROCESSES (Grades 10-12)                                                                                                      1 Year, 1 Credit

    This course will build on the skills and knowledge acquired in General Metals with a focus on machine tool processes through individual and group projects. Projects may be individually designed to meet student needs, or may arise as a result of Service Learning or school based needs. Processes to be covered will include the safe and proper use of lathes, drill presses, grinders, milling machines, their accessories, CAD/CAM/CNC technology, technical math and measuring tools. Project rigor and workplace skills will be emphasized by giving the students the opportunity for more in-depth work in an extended class time. 

     

    Prerequisite: Successful completion of General Metals
