  • The Monadnock Regional School District is a combined community of learners, education professionals & support staff, volunteers, businesses & civic organizations, tax-payers, and families who represent the towns of Fitzwilliam, Gilsum, Richmond, Roxbury, Swanzey, and Troy. We embrace our shared responsibility to guide students to become active citizens who are both empowered and inspired to contribute to the future of their community. Therefore, we collaborate not just to teach, but also to engage and educate every student in our district in an environment that is challenging, caring, and safe, while fostering life-long learning.

    June 5, 2024

    Hello Monadnock Community!

Since the public approval of the Elementary Building Project in March of 2023, we have been working diligently behind the scenes planning and preparing for this moment.

I am happy to announce that the first building phase of the project is set to begin this summer at Mount Caesar Elementary School. We will officially “break ground” on Wednesday, June 12th at noon.

The work that is expected to be completed this summer includes:

    • New bus turnaround and driveway which will include new traffic patterns

    • New playground

    • New softball field

    • New parking lot in the front of the school

    • Site work to prepare for the building addition

The building of the new addition, which includes the gym, cafeteria, new entrance and office, and many classrooms, will begin late summer/early fall. The expected completion date for the whole MTC project is December of 2025.

We are excited to see this work begin. As you can imagine, things at MTC will be very busy this summer. In order to keep everyone safe during construction, the playground, parking lots, and fields at MTC will be closed starting June 12th. While the area will be fenced off, we would still appreciate your help reminding kids and others that the playground and fields will be closed for the summer.

Thank you MRSD community for supporting this important project and stay tuned for further updates.
