                                                Non-Public Meeting Minutes

                                                           November 3, 2008

                                      Sullivan Elementary School, Sullivan, NH  

 

Present: Susan Oerman, Jane Fortson, Gene White, William Felton, Robert Smith, Phyllis Peterson, Winston Wright, Doug Lyman, Eric Stanley and James Carnie.

Also present: K. Dassau, Superintendent, E. Wammack, Business Manager, D. Hodgdon, Assistant Superintendent, B. Pickering, high school principal and L. Aivaliotis, Recording Secretary.

 

RSA91 A-:3 II (b)- Nominations: MOTION: S. Oerman MOVED to accept the nomination of Cassandra Latura for the Internship Coach position, prorated to the start date. SECOND: R. Smith. DISCUSSION: R.Smith explained that after the conversation tonight regarding the collaboration of the shared resources between the high school and the MC2 Program, he would support the recommendation on the word of B. Pickering. E. Stanley commented that he would be voting yes based on the conversation with B. Pickering tonight as well. W.Felton asked for the educational background of C.Latura, K. Dassau explained.  J. Fortson asked if she had the background to run the internship program. B.Pickering explained that he trusts that the committee had looked at that. B.Pickering commented that in the future he would like to have a conversation with the Board showing the numbers and how there would be a saving in the collaboration between MC2 and the high school. J. Carnie commented that he would still vote no on the motion. He said that he does appreciate what B.Pickering is doing and he hopes that it does work out. Still he feels that MC2 has a huge budget. It needs to be looked at. He is not in favor of this position or MC2 as a whole. VOTE: 7.965/2.3/1.021/3.714.Motion passes.    

 

MOTION: W.Felton. MOVED to return to public session. SECOND: P. Peterson. VOTE: 11.286/0/0/3.714.Motion passes.
