Taking Attendance

  • The first thing you need to know about PowerTeacher is how to take attendance.  This is an easy process...as easy as 1...2...3!

    1.   Log on to PowerTeacher.  The web address for MRMHS powerteacher is:

    http://ps.mrsd.org/teachers
    Notice that there are no "w"s in the address.  There are none needed, and if you put them in, you will wonder why this address does not work.  You can log on to PowerTeacher from anywhere you can get internet access as long as all is well in Neal's server room.  If you are unable to log on, call me, and I will help you.

    2.  Choose a class.

    When you first log in, you will see a list of your classes.  The current class should be highlighted.
    Click on the little Chair
    Click on the little Chair
    The left-most chair is what you will use if you have not set up seating charts.  The other one will allow you to take attendance right on the seating chart.
    Now, choose the Attendance code you want to add.  Usually this is AU (for Absent Unexcused)  Most schools insist that the code start there and change as things develop through the day.  Your Admin Asst will adjust to AE (Absent Excused) or TU or TE.
